WHS S.A.F.E. (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) members prepare informational materials about distracted driving, seatbelt safety statistics, and drunk driving. They shared this information during the home basketball game on Tuesday night!
Some fast facts presented by our S.A.F.E. Club members:
- Wearing a seatbelt increases the likelihood of surviving a crash by 50%.
-Car crashes are the leading cause of death in teens ages 12-19.
-KS is ranked the 4th highest state in the US for distracted driving.
S.A.F.E wants to encourage our students and families to buckle up! Put the phone down and never drive impaired, or let a friend who has been drinking drive!

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area until noon Wednesday, with freezing drizzle and light ice accumulation expected. While accumulation may be minimal (around 0.02 inches), even a light glaze can make roads, bridges, and overpasses slick and hazardous.
Please use extreme caution when driving in the morning—allow extra time, reduce speed, and be aware of icy spots.
Our team will be monitoring road conditions late tonight and early in the morning. If further action is needed, we will notify families as soon as possible.
Stay safe, Charger Nation! 🚗❄️
