Welcome back, Charger Nation! We're excited to kick off the new school year tomorrow! As a reminder, it will be an early dismissal at 1 PM. Don't miss the WJHS and WHS Open House from 6-7 PM tonight. It's a great chance to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and get ready for a fantastic year ahead. Let's make this school year our best one yet!
Practice bus this morning is running about 20 minutes behind. It is en route now to Maple Hill and should be there about 7:35.
Reminder: Wabaunsee High School will be having a “Freshman & New Student Night” on Monday, August 19th from 6:00pm - 7:00pm! This will be an informal hour where new students and freshmen, along with their families, can come by the high school to have any last minute questions answered, walk your new class schedule, and check out where you can find your lockers! Doors will open at 6:00pm but you are welcome to come anytime between 6:00pm and 7:00pm. Please be advised that your teachers may not be present this night, and this is simply an opportunity to become more familiar with the building before school starts. See you then!
Sports Practice Bus Schedule for Tomorrow:
The practice bus tomorrow morning will start in Maple Hill at 7:15 am and go through the towns to Alma. It will then leave Alma around 7:40 – 7:45 am to take JH football players to Paxico. The after practice return bus will leave from Paxico at 9:45 am going through McFarland to Alma. Then it will leave Alma at 10:00 and go through towns to Maple Hill.

Charger Nation, here is the latest information on our daily AM shuttle bus schedule:
Jeff Eckelberry will pick up all in-town Maple Hill riders at the former Maple Hill Elementary School and depart by 7:20 a.m. He will then shuttle students to Wabaunsee JrHS and arrive around 7:35 a.m.
Danielle Abrams (bus #74) will drive the shuttle from the high school to the junior high. She will depart the high school by 7:30 a.m. She will then stop at Park Valley for JrHS students at 7:35 a.m. and be at the McFarland Senior Center around 7:40 a.m. Please ensure your students are at Wabaunsee High School by 7:25 a.m. to catch the shuttle. Know that these times may vary as we proceed through the week and better understand loading and unloading times, construction delays, etc. We will notify you in the event of any adjustments.
Also, all non-shuttle bus rider families should receive individual contact from their driver by Thursday afternoon, welcoming them and answering any questions parents/guardians may have.

JUNIOR HIGH OPEN HOUSE
The junior high faculty would like to invite ALL 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and their parents to an Open House at the Junior High on Monday, August 19, from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. The evening will begin with a session of information and then a question and answer time. After that, the students and parents are free to wander through the school, put things in lockers, and visit with the teachers in their rooms. Returning 7th and 8th grade students will bring their supplies with them to school on Tuesday, August 20th. Hope to see you there!

Weight Room Membership Notice: WHS & WJH Gyms will be closed from July 29th-Aug 4th. The weight room will still be open, but gyms will be blocked due to gym floors being redone. All Weight Room Memberships will be deactivated from Aug 5th-9th for summer maintenance & cleaning. No entry will be allowed in gyms or weight rooms.
